Frequently Asked Questions

1) What do I need to bring?

To ensure you enjoy your stay with us to the fullest, we recommend that you bring the following items with you:

  • Sleeping bag (mandatory for hygiene reasons) - if you prefer to sleep with a duvet, you can rent one for 5 CHF

  • Earplugs – the cabin can be very noisy, especially when it gets lively and there might be someone snoring in your room.

  • Towel (preferably a compact travel towel if you want to freshen up in the washroom – there are no showers)

  • Headlamp or flashlight (especially useful if you have to go out at night)

  • Alpine Club ID card if you are a member – this will save you accommodation costs!

  • Enough food and drink for your tour :)

If you've forgotten something, don't worry! You can buy hut sleeping bags from us, and we'll usually find a solution for the most important things. The most important thing, anyway, is a good mood and a desire for a true hut experience!

2) When is food served?

We place great value on regional and seasonal products, which we source from local farmers and producers. We pay attention to sustainable alternatives and therefore only serve a vegetarian 3-course menu in the evening. Dinner is served at 6:00 p.m., and the breakfast buffet is available from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. Food from the regular menu is prepared until 5:00 p.m. In addition to the evening menu, there is a snack platter with selected cheeses and cured meats from the nearby Alps.

3) Can I pay by card?

Unfortunately not, as we don't have a stable internet connection. Please remember to bring enough cash.

4) Can my dog come with me?

Dogs are very welcome. For a nightly flat rate of CHF 10.00, they can stay overnight in the "Adler" annex. Dogs are generally allowed in the hut's dining room, but not in the rest of the hut. Please bring a pet blanket and plenty of food for overnight stays; unfortunately, we do not have any pet food reserves at the hut.

5) Is there food for people with allergies or intolerances?

We do our best to accommodate any intolerances or allergies. Please let us know of your needs when making your reservation so we can plan accordingly.
Since our kitchen also handles allergen-containing foods, we can't guarantee 100% freedom from cross-contamination. But we're sure to find a delicious solution for you!

6) Is there vegetarian or vegan food?

Yes! Our dinner is always vegetarian and often vegan. If you want to make sure there's a vegan dish available, just let us know in advance – we'll make it happen!

7) Is there Wi-Fi or cell phone reception?

No, unfortunately, we don't have Wi-Fi. Instead, you'll find countless truly offline moments: impressive mountain views, good conversations, books, or a game of cards. If you need reception, you can use your cell phone on the terrace – there's usually a signal there, or feel free to talk to us.

Unfortunately, the reception directly at the hut is rather poor, but if you move a little further away from the hut, you may be able to receive Swiss or Austrian networks.

8) Are there showers?

No, but there are washrooms. You can freshen up there after a strenuous hike—but please remember that water is precious at the hut. So make sure everyone can enjoy a refreshing drink.
